The Centre for Teaching and Learning in partnership with SCU Engagement invites Unit Assessors and their teaching teams to attend “Let’s Make It Real” – An Authentic Curriculum Design Workshop, at the Gold Coast and Lismore campuses:
- Tuesday 9 August 2016, 9.30am-12.30pm, room B4.26, Gold Coast
- Thursday 11 August 2016, 9.30am-12.30pm, room R1.68, Lismore
- Thursday 18 August, 2016, 9.30am-12.30pm, room A1.27, Coffs Harbour
Facilitated by Jonathan Purdy (Centre for Teaching & Learning), and Kristin den Exter (SCU Engagement), these workshops focus on support and resources for curriculum design in the areas of authentic problem/project based learning.
Opportunities for embedding real-world projects from assignment briefs through to whole research projects will be explored.
These workshops will also provide resources on:
- engaged learning approaches
- authentic learning design
- project-based learning and
- embedding supporting processes for students including the use of authentic assessment
